The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) of the People’s Republic of China drafts and implements policies related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, and regulates crop farming, animal husbandry, fisheries, agricultural mechanization, and the quality of agriculture products through 24 departments. MARA also has a mandate to oversee and ensure rural development as China strives to eliminate extreme rural poverty.

Further cooperation in agriculture, MARA and NEDAC can implementing on sustainable agricultural development involving both domestic and international circulation focusing on improving agricultural quality, efficiency, and competitiveness, prioritizing quality of varieties or breeds, quality improvement, brand building, standard-based production, ensuring the supply of important agricultural products, and promoting the continuous increase of farmers’ income.
