A fruitful gathering at a vibrant city of the Philippines, the CDA firmly hosted General Assembly and EXCOM meeting of NEDAC added another layer to this vibrant tapestry of cooperation.
Manila – The NEDAC General Assembly and Executive Committee Meeting for the year 2023 were held in Manila, Philippines, from 5 to 8 November 2023. The distinguished host for this event was the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) of the Philippines, a valued member of NEDAC. The venue for this significant gathering was the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel, where sixteen participants and invitees, including representatives from NEDAC member countries such as India, Nepal, the Philippines, and Thailand, actively contributed to the success of the event. The NEDAC Work Plan for the period of 2024-2025, along with a comprehensive review of activities undertaken since the last General Assembly in Bangkok on November 4, 2022, and the planned activities for 2024, were presented during the meeting. For the next two years, NEDAC proposed several in-person events at the NEDAC Training Centre, Bangkok (NTCB) and collaborative activities with esteemed agricultural cooperative organizations in Asia and the Pacific to expand and strengthen reach of NEDAC. Furthermore, the meeting discussed several issues related to membership status and internal secretarial matters of NEDAC.

The collaborative seminar on Enhancing Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains through Partnership among Cooperative in Asia and the Pacific was organized on November 7, 2023 from 11:00 – 12:30 (Philippines Time) at the Crown Plaza Manila Galleria Hotel. It was organized in association with the ICA-AP Regional Assembly taking place in Manila from November 6-10, 2023.
