Emerging Technologies in Agriculture and Allied Sectors for Cooperatives

Specialists from USA, India and Thailand demonstrated the advanced technologies for precision agriculture farming, aquaculture, supply chains and business.

A two-day online training program was organized by NEDAC jointly with Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research & Development (LINAC), and NCDC, India on 29-30 June 2021 through Zoom Conference Platform with participation of specialists from USA, India and Thailand. The training program was organized to develop cooperative organizations on emerging technologies in agriculture and allied sectors to improve the systems and practices of the emerging business eco systems.

The training program was honored by two chief guests from the Government of India: Ambassador Renu Pall, Additional Secretary from the Ministry of External Affairs for the inaugural session, and Shri S K Varshney, Head of Scientific Division of the International Cooperation (Bilateral), Department of Science and Technology for the closing session.

The first day was started with the presentation by Dr. Joe Luck from University of Nebraska, Lincoln, USA on Precision Agriculture and Data Science. Then, Dr. YijieXiong from the same university presented Precision Animal Farming. Last presentation of the day was on Environment Friendly Agri Wastes Processing Technologies for Business presented by Prof. Rintu Banerjee from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India.

First presentation of the second day is Advanced Technologies for Businesses on Plants and Microclimate presented by Dr. Sruti Das Choudhury from University of Nebraska, Lincoln, USA. Second presentation was on Advanced Technologies in Aquaculture by Dr. K.R. Salin from AIT/NEDAC, Bangkok, Thailand, and last presentation of the training programm efeatured the State-of-the-art Agri Logistics and Supply Chains presented by Mr. Pawanexh Kohli from LINAC-NCDC, India.
