The 2022 EXCOM meeting was held on 31 January 2022 via Zoom Conference Platform.
The EXCOM meeting was successfully organized on 31 January 2022 with thirty participants, including NEDAC members from seven countries, viz., India, Kenya, Nepal, Iran, Philippines, Japan, and Thailand.
The objectives of the meeting were to present a review of the NEDAC activities in the last meeting, including a review of the financial status, NEDAC secretariat affairs, and to facilitate decision making between EXCOM members or in any urgent or necessary issues. A useful discussion followed featuring NAFED, India, NAFSCOB, India; FPSDC and CDA, Philippines, CURACI, Iran, on facilitating import-export and lower price purchase of products such as seeds, fruits, processed and canned food and fertilizers among cooperative members.
Cooperative trade is one of the discussion topics which is the effective way to promote local products of the cooperatives to other countries and that NEDAC members need to work together to support them. For the near future, NEDAC will expand more by adding new members from the more countries in Asia-Pacific to enhance capacity and skills of the agricultural cooperatives as much as possible.
